Dr Campbell Schmidt

Dr Campbell Schmidt is a specialist Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgeon with experience in all paediatric and adult ear nose and throat conditions.

Dr Schmidt graduated from the University of Queensland with first class honours and the University Medal before undertaking his surgical residency and a Master of Philosophy at the Princess Alexandra Hospital.

His subsequent ENT speciality training saw him rotate through hospitals in South-East Queensland, including 12-months at the Queensland Children’s Hospital, before undertaking further sub-specialty training in head and neck cancer at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in 2023.

He then accepted a second fellowship post in microvascular reconstructive and robotic surgery of the head and neck at London Health Sciences Centre, Ontario, Canada. He is one of only a few QLD head and neck surgeons with formal fellowship training in transoral robotic surgery (TORS).

His academic appointments at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and Princess Alexandra Hospital are focused on the management of head and neck, including advanced skin and thyroid, cancer, where he is a part of the Multidisciplinary Teams that guide complex decision making. 

Campbell has advanced training and a dedicated practice in thyroid and parathyroid surgery. He also has a keen interest in optimising treatment for patients with benign and malignant facial nerve disorders and offers facial-reanimation surgery as well as chemodenervation with Botox.
